Wukesong gymnasium, 五棵松體育館
Wukesong gymnasium was designed and built for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. It has an instantly recognisable exterior, which can be lit up in an array of different colours at night. The arena came to life 13 years ago with the exciting first-round basketball match between the USA and China, before staging one of the greatest men's finals in the history of the Games – an unforgettable clash of the titans between the USA and Spain, in which the team led by LeBron James and Kobe Bryant clinched a 118-107 victory.
五棵松體育館是為2008年北京奧運會設計和建造的。它有著極易識別的建筑外觀，在夜間呈現出不同的色彩。2008年奧運會期間，中國男籃在這里大戰美國隊，被稱為奧運籃球歷史上最精彩的一場決賽——美國和西班牙的決賽也在這里舉辦，由詹姆斯和科比率領的美國隊以118-107擊敗了西班牙取得最終勝利，這兩場比賽也讓五棵松體育館成為了人們關注的焦點。
In 2015, work began on the arena to install an ice rink – which can be converted back into a basketball court in under six hours. In 2016, the gymnasium was an arena for both basketball and ice hockey events. After a modification of its ice making and dehumidification systems, it can switch between ice hockey and basketball setups, and many "ice-basket back-to-back" competitions have been successfully held.
2015年，五棵松體育館鋪設了冰場。2016年起，五棵松體育館同時成為職業籃球和職業冰球兩個賽事的主場，通過對場館制冰和除濕系統的改造，五棵松體育館實現了六小時內完成冰球、籃球兩種比賽模式的轉換，并成功舉辦了多場冰籃“背靠背”比賽。
According to the requirements of the International Ice Hockey Federation, the 30-by-60-meter ice hockey rink used in previous winter Olympics has been changed to 26-by-60 meters to increase the intensity of matches. The gymnasium has upgraded the ice-making system, locker rooms, anti-doping test lab, as well as lighting, network, power and 5G facilities.
五棵松體育館擁有的冰場尺寸是按照國際比賽標準的30米×60米，而國際冰聯為了增加比賽的激烈程度和觀賞性，決定從北京冬奧會開始，將往屆冬奧會使用的30米×60米的場地改為26米×60米。同時還升級了制冰系統、更衣室、反興奮劑檢測室以及照明、網絡、電力和5G等設施。
"It's good for the whole sustainability of the Games as the gymnasium uses carbon dioxide instead of Freon as refrigerants in ice-making, which will reduce carbon emission equivalent to that of 3,900 cars a year" said a diplomat invited to watch a test game at the venue.
“這將有益于冬奧會整體未來的可持續性發展。在制冰過程中使用二氧化碳代替氟利昂作為制冷劑，每年將減少相當于3900輛汽車的碳排放” 一位受邀觀看五棵松體育館測試賽的外交官說。
